WHO ARE WE?

TTG Consultants, the consulting division of The Transition Group, is a full-service Human Resource consulting firm based in Los Angeles.

The firm was founded in 1985 by David Bowman, its current Chairman.

The company's initial focus was on creating unique and cost-effective Outplacement programs, such as unlimited professional coaching without costly office services, flat-fee "career continuation" coaching for mid-level employees, and Opening New Doors? — the first stand-alone job-search/career-management system, costing only a fraction of traditional Outplacement. Opening New Doors? is used by many of the nation's leading corporations, including, Baskin-Robbins, CBS, Ernst & Young, Hitachi, Lockheed Martin, Olivetti, Sony, Twentieth Century Fox, Unisys, Unocal, Viacom and Warner Bros., among many others.

In 1990, TTG developed several Organizational Effectiveness programs using The Birkman Method? – an in-depth, broadly-based self-assessment tool. These have included Selection and Hiring, Executive Coaching, 360? Assessment & Performance Appraisal, Conflict Resolution, High Performance Team Building, Succession Planning/Replacement and Career Assessment/Exploration. Others have included creating Learning Organizations, as well as Compensation and Reward System design. Recently, various Corporate Training programs have been introduced, including Entrepreneurism & Innovation, Quality Improvement, Customer Responsiveness, and Supervisory Training.

In 1994, TTG began a retained Recruiting Services practice, which features intense assessment of candidates.

To better serve its clients with global needs, in 1996, TTG joined Lincolnshire International, a worldwide partnership of high-quality human resources consulting firms.

In 2003, TTG introduced an internet-based series of job-search and career development tutorials, It’s Your Career!? The It’s Your Career? – Power It! version is a motivational introduction to the job-search process and discusses The Three Most Important Components Of A Job-Search: Self-Assessment, Resume Writing and Interviewing/Negotiating. The It’s Your Career? – Advance It! version is a corporate career development and pathing program that addresses Strategies for Success in the “New” Workplace: How to Know Yourself, Grow Yourself and Market Yourself inside today’s corporate structures.

In 2004, TTG introduced a new, low-cost, job-search program, You’re In Charge Of You!? This addresses The Four Critical Elements of an Effective Job-Search: Self-Assessment (who am I and what can I offer employers), Resume Writing (to generate interviews), Interviewing (to get the job offer) and Negotiating (to get the most $ and benefits). It also discusses the Importance of Networking, How To Use Research To Discover Job Opportunities and How To Work With Employment Agencies. It is “boxed” with an audiotape, an audio CD and an Action/Success Guide. It is available in both English and Spanish.

In 2005, TTG introduced its newest job-search/career-management system, Your FasTrack To Success!®, the most complete such tutorial ever offered to the retail public.

Other recently developed internet-based programs include Preventing Sexual Harassment In The Workplace (in English and Spanish) and Preventing Workplace Violence – each program having two versions: one for “Management” and one for “All Employees” (non-supervisors). Additionally, TTG has developed two “on-line” audio and video conferencing systems for Outplacement Coaching and Workshops, as well as Executive Coaching: e-VideoCoaching? (for 2 person conferencing) and e-VideoSeminars? (for unlimited numbers of locations, simultaneously).

David Bowman, Chairman of TTG Consultants, is co-author of the popular book, How Do I Find The Right Job? Ask The Experts!?, published by John Wiley & Sons, New York. He also often comments on workplace issues in newspapers and other periodicals, as well as on many national radio and television talk shows. He is a nationally known speaker about careers and workplace topics.
